Hero Highway

Updated: Oct 28, 2019

Have you ever passed one of those brown Hero Highway signs while speeding down the freeway? This sign program was started in 2012 by Gold Star Fathers Michael Thorpe and David Troyer. They lost a son, LCpl Tyler Troyer USMC in Iraq and wanted a way to honor him and other Heroes like him. T2H Director and Gold Star Father Grant Coffey, also lost his son in Afghanistan and because of the work of these two men, Hwy 212 between Clackamas and Boring, is now the Cpl Keaton Grant Coffey Hero Highway.

One of our pillar missions is to HONOR our Heroes in anyway that we can. At Keaton’s Damascus Christian High School where a scholarship endowment program is in his name, Honor Society students get involved with T2H by giving their time, talent and treasure in an amazing partnership. They do annual projects with us and here are taking on a regular sign maintenance project for our local Hero, Keaton.
